Nikolay Petrov is a Cinematographer with roots in the Bulgarian film industry. He began his career working as an electrician on local film sets, where he quickly developed a strong understanding of lighting and on-set workflow. He has also serious post production and color science interest which led him to collaborate as a live-grader on set with some of the most respected cinematographers in the industry during his first years — including Hoyte van Hoytema, Greig Fraser, and many others — helping bring their visual intentions to life on set with precision and creativity.

His passion for visual storytelling led him behind the camera, where he began shooting short films and independent projects as a Director of Photography. Whether working independently or as part of a larger team, Nikki brings a deep technical knowledge, a keen visual sensibility, and a collaborative spirit to every project.
