Nikolay Petrov is a Filmmaker with a more than a decade of history in the film industry. He began his career working as an electrician on local film sets in his home town of Sofia, where he quickly developed a strong understanding of lighting and on-set workflow. He has also serious post production and color correction interest which led him to collaborate as a live-grader on set with some of the most respected cinematographers in the industry during his first years — including Hoyte van Hoytema and Greig Fraser.

His passion for visual storytelling led him behind the camera, where he began shooting short films and independent projects as a Director of Photography. Whether working independently or as part of a larger team, Nikki brings deep technical knowledge, a keen visual sensibility, and a collaborative spirit to every project. Also he has been stepping into the director's chair on select independent projects — bringing the same meticulous eye and narrative instinct he has honed as a DP to the full creative vision of a film, from concept to final frame.
